The deal activity log

Last updated 2026-10-07

The Activity tab in a deal's right-hand sidebar is a running, read-only timeline of everything that's happened on that deal — field changes, status changes, employees and vendors added or removed, seat reassignments (Owner/Dispo/TC/Originated by), and more. Each entry shows who did it and when — an entry shows System when the change came from an automated source (a webhook or integration) rather than a person.

Field changes

When fields on the deal change, the timeline shows a Field changes entry: who or what made the change, which fields, and each one's old and new value with an arrow between them ("Closing Date: Nov 1, 2026 → Nov 15, 2026"). Everything changed in one save, or by one automator run, is grouped into a single entry. When an entry covers more than three fields, select Show 2 more (the number varies) to see the rest.

The top line of the entry says where the change came from — a teammate's name, Automator and the automator's name, a name followed by with Ask TED, or System. To see every change ever recorded for one field, use the changes link under that field on the Deal Info tab — see Seeing what changed a deal field.

If an entry shows "Couldn't load the old and new values — Retry", the entry itself loaded but its values didn't; select it to try again.

Older entries

Select Load more at the bottom to see older entries.

This is different from Deal comments, where your team writes messages to each other — Activity only records what changed, automatically.
